Stopsley Primary School

Stopsley Primary is a school where success happens. We are a two-form entry school on the east of Luton, catering for a diverse range of pupils from 3-11 years. Our children all achieve well. We are passionate about learning and are a Rights Respecting School, with our children acting as ‘#changemakers’ so that they can help shape the future of the world that they will live in. We care a lot about sport and have our own football academy, crazy golf course and bike track. We care a lot about music and the arts, providing a variety of opportunities that allow our children to become independent star performers. We set extremely high standards at Stopsley and our children enjoy the challenge of meeting these. Simply, our children are inspired and have a growth mindset and they love thriving at school.

As the only Trauma Informed UK Primary School in Bedfordshire, we believe in our children receiving the love and care that they need to succeed. We foster a close partnership between home and school and we welcome parents into our school to help, take part in activities and to share experiences. We provide as much support for parents as we do for our children. Being a community school, we know how important our role is in the local area and our families trust us whole-heartedly. Stopsley are proud to consistently achieve above national standards in all subjects (year after year) and our teaching – based on the key principles of Assessment for Learning – is what we do best despite the challenges we face. Our whole-school learning behaviours (independence, collaboration, challenge, pride, determination and curiosity) drive our children and these are embedded throughout our school.
